About the Author
About the Authors Dr. Amir H. Kashani attended Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where he obtained his MD and PhD. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Southern California (USC) Eye Institute.  He also completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery and retinal diseases at the Associated Retinal Consultants (Royal Oak, Michigan). Dr. Kashani is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is an Assistant Professor and clinician-scientist at the USC Eye Institute.His research involves the use of imaging spectroscopy and optical coherence tomography to improve the diagnosis and management of retinal diseases.  He has an active clinical practice in both medical and surgical diseases of the retina and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in the field. Dr. Kashani is also a clinical investigator for a number of clinical trials. Darrin Landry, CRA, OCT-C has been an ophthalmic photographer since 1990, working primarily in retina practices. He is the co-founder and vice president of Bryson Taylor Inc, an ophthalmic consulting company that specializes in ophthalmic education. He was part of an expert panel that devised the certification for optical coherence tomography for the Ophthalmic Photographers’ Society. His list of clients includes private practices, academic institutions, clinical trial reading centers and biotechnology companies across the United States and in several countries in Europe and South America. He is the author of multiple peer-reviewed articles, as well as Retinal Imaging Simplified and Optical Coherence Tomography: A Clinical Atlas of Retinal Images.

Fun for a little while

The calendar is fun at first, but there are only 30 different designs (a few of which can hardly be considered planes) that repeat throughout the year. Each page is a different brightly colored pattern however.

Excellent book for anyone wants to get basic and fundamental information on epidemiology and study designs. This book provides useful formula and practical examples on how to measure outcomes, exposures, incidence of diseases, etc, and on how to control confounding in cohort and case-control studies. These formula and measurements are not usually well explained in the books I have read before.

Not reliable

I can't speak to the entire contents of the book, but I can comment with a good deal of certainty with respect to at least one of his subjects since it involves the person that killed my sister and other innocent women. Mellor appears to have leaned heavily on other writings on the topic that are equally fictional, take liberties with the truth and are simply wrong. One would have expected a higher degree of veracity from a work purported to be non-fiction. If you find this type of genre entertaining, it may be fine; however, if you are interested in a fact-based work, you may be disappointed.

Awesome book. Well detailed well researched.

Ok. I just got this book on friday September 21st. I absolutely love it. The author did his home work. Over 60 serial killers are detailed in this book. The author gives detailed brief accounts of their lives,crimes,and so forth. It is amazing to learn how sick some of theese monsters are or were. Even some gruesome double murderers where included. This book is well written. I recomend it for any serial killer fan,true crime fan,or anybody intrested in this subject line.
